Permit for construction of vehicle canopies
Željko Vogrin, of Maribor City Council, says that the installation of canopies of 30m2 usually does not require a building permit or project documentation, and in some cases only necessary approval is needed.
The installation of prefabricated roofs and 'Carport' car parking structures is not an issue, problems would only occur if individual sites for placing the canopy are in an area where the development application is subject to restrictions on primary residential building materials, or the area is restricted by factors of urbanisation or land use.
The location for installation of the canopy must be checked with the relevant competent administrative unit. The City Council governing the area where you will be installing the Carport will provide all necessary information.
